The Bothy is a versatile community hire space available to charities, community groups and artists. The light-filled space is great for creative workshops, presentations, meetings, seminars, drop-in sessions, and small-scale events and exhibitions.
Vanessa Arbuthnott, a fabric designer, came up with the idea for the project in 2015, which has since become a busy and thriving hub of activities and events. Every week, the space is used by a variety of charities, community groups, and creative workshop organisers.
If you are visiting the Bothy for the first time, please note that the Bothy entrance is through a separate building on the left hand side of the Vanessa Arbuthnott Fabrics showroom. It has its own front door on the left of the building, which you can access via a narrow walkway that has hedges on either side and in front of the Bothy’s terrace area.
If booking the Bothy during a working day, it will be unlocked and available to freely access during our opening hours below. Outside of these hours will mean independent access, but this will be explained by a member of staff upon booking.
